Dutchman Yelmer Buurman has shown impressive results in recent testing and with Adam Khan having decided to focus on A1 GP for Team Pakistan, this opportunity provides Buurman the best possible preparation for the GP2 Main Series 2008.

Yelmer Buurman: “When I arrived on the circuit of Paul Ricard this morning I heard the good news that I will get the chance to become a GP2 racedriver earlier than expected. I am really happy because the 3 extra races in the GP2 Asia Series will give me the experience I need for the Main Series. I like to thank my sponsor Trust International and Christian Horner for the support and confidence I get. Hopefully we will get maximum points in the next races.”

Christian Horner: “ Yelmer has shown very encouraging pace in pre season testing so far and therefore it was a very logical decision for Yelmer to replace Adam Khan with immediate effect  for the remaining 3 GP2 Asia races. Partnering Sebastien Buemi, Yelmer provides the team with a strong line up and provides him with crucial experience prior to the first GP2 Europe season.”
