CHARACTER-BUILDING DAY FOR TRUST TEAM ARDEN

Trust Team Arden endured a difficult qualifying session when the 2008 GP2 Series began in Barcelona a fortnight ago… and it was a similar tale when drivers Sébastien Buemi and Yelmer Buurman returned to action today at Istanbul Park, Turkey.

Having struggled to escape the tightly packed midfield during this morning’s free practice session, the duo’s fortunes barely improved in qualifying. Sébastien lines up 16th tomorrow, one place ahead of his Dutch team-mate.

Sébastien:

“This isn’t good. We were just too slow and struggled to match the leaders’ pace. We need to do better tomorrow, but I proved in Spain that it’s possible to fight back from adversity. It’s difficult to gain places if you are 1.4 seconds off the pace, though, so we simply have to make sure we get the car right.”

Yelmer:

“Things didn’t feel too bad at the beginning of the session, but then I was caught out by lots of traffic and a number of yellow flags. I’m sure we could definitely have done better. The car felt all right, but we are still a bit off the pace. There is clearly room for improvement tomorrow.”
