Just as he did in Barcelona a fortnight ago, Arden GP2 racer Sébastien Buemi underlined his racecraft with a stirring recovery drive after yesterday’s qualifying disappointment.

Starting 16th, the rising Swiss star gained ground during a chaotic opening lap and drove steadily thereafter to take a strong sixth place. He is one of only two drivers to have scored points in each of the opening three races. Team-mate

“I made a reasonable start, but then found myself squeezed between
Yelmer:
“I made a good start but one of the BCN cars collided with me at the first corner, which caused me to spin and lose quite a few places. The impact hurt my hand, so it was a pretty tough race for me. The car sustained a bit of damage, too, so I’m actually quite happy with the result. Tomorrow, though, we can hopefully do better.”
