For the second consecutive GP2 weekend, Sébastien Buemi signed off with a flourish after taking his Trust Team Arden to a podium finish in the Sunday morning sprint.

Lining up on the inside of row two, Buemi moved up to second on the opening lap when pole position man Adam Carroll (FMS) slowed with a technical problem. The race was then neutralised almost immediately following a series of first-lap incidents – one of which forced out Buemi’s team-mate
Buemi resumed in second after the restart, but subsequently had to yield to eventual winner Romain Grosjean (ART). Nevertheless, third place maintained his 100 per cent points-scoring record for the season and moves him up to third in the championship.
Bizarrely, the race had to be interrupted by a second Safety Car period after two stray dogs ran on the track: one of them collided with sixth-placed
